Wow after avoiding the homemade gorditas (I had to ask her the name today) I had to tackle lunch out with Mom - at 59 Diner no less. So I said no to the bacon cheesburger, the club salad (it has bacon), the fries, the shake - ok basically the whole menu. I ended up with the only thing I could get away with - the grilled chicken salad, honey mustard on the side - it had two thin slices of avacado, cucumber and half a head of lettuce and tomatoes but they had to go.
Did pretty good during work then I headed home to eat something before scrap night (yes on a Friday - I am open to better things to do) but ended up just grabbing an orange, pineapple, laughing cow cheese and some grapes. So I went and what are they having? Frito Pie!!! Oh so delicious - lots of cheese and chili - so what do I do? No thank you.
So after a large dill pickle, 120 calories of chex mix, an orange and some more laughing cow cheese - I am now at 925 - YEAH!!! room for milk, yummmm.
I also squeezed in a Ferrer Rocher (70 calories) and will stick with Dove for the future.
Just saying no can be pretty hard and not nearly as tasty.
Changing, one grilled chicken salad at a time.

I am so proud of you for avoiding all of that bad stuff, it must have been really hard. Amazing the will power you have when you set your mind to it! good job!
ReplyDeleteGood job avoiding the bad food! Saying no will get easier...
ReplyDeleteAlso, great job, being aware. You can also say Cut the bacon, for instance. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that I will have a crazy day involving sausage, mac & cheese, fried okra and a gallon of milk - but hopefully that will only happen once a month.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the salad had no bacon to say no to - that is why I chose it - because my brain would have said - why make the poor chef make a special salad? hehehe
