Okay - so my eating is done for the day - :(
Yes, it makes me sad too. So instead of preparing a healthy breakfast (ok that jst gets me laughing right there) I ate a roll which was probably about 200 calories - not bad but not heathly.
So, all or nothing.
For lunch there was part of a chicken breast (100) and some corn (estimated at 250) this was actually quite delicious. Had a craving for food around 3pm so of course I hit the old time favorite - a roll (add another 200).
Now after this very healthy day to point I knew that I needed to go grocery shopping after work. No problem - HEB is on the way home. Got there at 5:30, gave myself 30 minutes, and left and hour later.
Hint - when starting a life change (with food) DO NOT GO SHOPPING WHILE HUNGRY - you end up spending twice the time walking around all of the food you cannot allow yourself to get while everything sounds good (I saw sushi - yuck - and I thought yummm...).
After filling the cart with awesome choices, if I do say so myself - and I do, lettuce, celery, chicken breast, lean ground turkey, oranges, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, Laughing Cow cheese, and several cans of soup and vegetables - I then headed home.
The sky was dark and the wind was blowing and the rain was soon to be falling. Okay - yeah hokey but hey it is my mind - all I was thinking was - yeah!!! I don't need to walk in the rain - it is not good for you - yeah this is probably not true (it is called lying to yourself to get your way).
Arriving home there was no rain and there was still light but I decided to prep all of the stuff I bought instead of walking (no this was not the right choice). I made a salad for lunch tomorrow, cut up the celery (20) and had a piece with a wedge (35) of cow cheese (very yummy and filling), then I made pico de gallo (thanks Brooke) and then I was done. Of course by then it was still light and not raining, but I decided to make my dinner instead of walking - see a pattern?
A delicious dinner of chicken breast (150) and a steamer bag of broccoli with cheese sauce (only 135) - ready in minutes, healthy and low in calorie -the trifecta of a good meal - not really.
Then imagine my surprise when I added my calories and found I was at 1090 for the day - my daily goal is 1120-1200 - this means that there was room for just a little more. I could have more laughing cheese, a bag of veggies, an orange, two apples, all the carrots I could take in - I chose THE TOTALLY AWESOME BLUE BELL FUDGE BAR (surprisingly 110) just on the mark. Wahooooooo!!!
So today has been an okay day - not the greatest health wise on the food, within the calorie count, no exercise and this temptation to buy an entire loaf of french bread and eat the whole thing - one day at a time.
Knowing that all days in the next year will not be this good but enjoying this one - I am signing out for the day - unless I go crazy and decide to raid the freezer for the frozen and ready in 10 minute snickerdoodle cookies (140 per cookie) during the night.
Changing one day at a time.
